Attleboro Cultural Council - News - Praise for Attleboro Big Read / Attleboro's 1ABC's 2008 Project!

Attleboro’s 1 ABC

Attleboro’s 1 Adventure, 1 Book, 1 Community encourages Attleboro's citizens to unite in reading the same title and to participate in related literary and cultural events.  It is comprised of Committee Partners: Attleboro Arts Museum; Attleboro Council on Aging; Attleboro Public Library; Attleboro Public Schools; Bishop Feehan High School; Bristol Community College; Double ACS; Friends of the Attleboro Public Library; The Attleboro YMCA; The Literacy Center; The Sun Chronicle;  …and committed individuals pursuing community-building through the shared experience of reading the same book.

We are in agreement with the NEA’s (National Endowment for the Arts') assessment that a democracy needs readers willing to discuss and exchange ideas about what they read.
